This residential service has been designed to support eight individuals with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs, as well as those who may have experienced previous placement breakdowns. Encouraging independent living and quality of life is at the heart of all we do, with spaces designed to provide high-quality living and support that meets the needs of every individual.

Overview

Ontario Court combines the benefits of a reconfigured period property with a purpose-built extension. The service features eight large self-contained flats, complimented by a range of communal spaces. The result is residential support that balances the need for personal space and independence with the opportunity for social interaction and communal living.

Tailored support, bespoke accommodation

Ontario Court has been expertly designed to a very high standard, with space that is bright without being overstimulating. Flats have feature walls with pastel colours and modern furniture, while communal areas benefit from comfortable soft furnishings, thoughtful, stylish finishing touches and uplifting artwork on the walls.

Communal areas include attractive dining spaces, lounges and activities rooms, all of which are designed to encourage the people supported at Ontario Court to spend time with peers and take part in a range of activities. The main lounge features bi-fold doors that overlook the gardens.

Our Sensory Room is a specially designed space designed to stimulate or calm the senses, promoting de-escalation and/or encouraging engagement depending on their individual needs. It features lighting, bubbles, buttons, sparkling lights, laser stars, fibre optic carpets, vibrating wall bumpers, and soft seating, to calm and engage the senses.

Ontario Court is surrounded by a safe outdoor space, featuring gardens, sensory areas, outdoor seating and a nest swing.

Our Residential Model

Our residential provision is far removed from traditional models of support— with a focus on community integration, proactive development of independence and Individual Care Pathways.

Our qualified team members provide each person with the care and support that they need, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – providing a safe, positive and stimulating environment. Services are carefully designed to meet the needs of the individuals who live there —adapting provision to meet individual need, whilst ensuring staffing structures and training are built around each person.

Our Clinical Support Team

In addition to our highly trained support teams, we also have a specialist in-house Clinical Support Team. The Clinical Support Team is a team of specialists from different disciplines, who work closely together to deliver additional support and expertise to the people we support at Precious.

By having an in-house team, we bring together professionals and practitioners from across different sectors to deliver person-centred, holistic care which focuses on the needs of the individual. With no need to apply and wait for support from external teams, we can provide this specialist support quickly and efficiently.

PBS

At Precious, we are committed to improving the support we provide by embedding Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) throughout the organisation. At its very core, PBS is about treating people with respect, putting their needs at the centre and enabling them to achieve the quality and enjoyment of life that everyone aspires to.

PBS takes a person-centred approach to identify which areas of support will be most helpful to each individual. This includes working closely with the people we support to make sure that their choices and goals are heard, respected and actioned.

Situated close to Peterborough, Ontario Court offers easy access to all that the city has to offer, from museums and shopping centres, to park and recreation areas. As well as being close to local amenities in the heart of the local community, Ontario court is less than ten minutes’ walk from Peterborough’s Central Park – offering beautiful outdoor space including a lovely sensory garden.

Referrals

We provide a rapid response to referrals and we will normally arrange a professional assessment within a few days of your call.

Our highly experienced team will carry out a full and detailed pre-admission assessment, free of charge and without obligation, prior to a placement being offered. This focuses on understanding the unique needs of each person and forms the basis of the their support plans if they move into the service.
