Golden Lane

We work in partnership with Golden Lane Housing to support individuals to organise their accommodation funding and tenancies across our Supported Living Services.

Specialist landlord services

Golden Lane Housing is a not-for-profit organisation that provides specialist landlord services. Their vision, much like our own, is a world where everyone with a disability has access to good quality housing that meets their needs.

How it works

When someone moves into a supported living service, a designated Housing Officer will visit them to complete their tenancy sign-up. This is usually within one week of them moving in. To facilitate this process, support team members, advocates, and alternative methods of communication are often used, based on individual needs and preferences.

As part of this support, Golden Lane Housing will work with the people we support to:

  • Talk about what it means to be a tenant
  • Provide information that is easy to understand
  • Work with individuals and the people who support them if their needs change
  • Deal with any issues that arise with the tenancy
“We have discharged people who have been detained in psychiatric inpatient hospitals to their own homes, in their local area, close to their families. This is not easy or quick, it can take months and sometimes even years of careful planning to ensure we get the right individualised support for each person, and this is what we have been doing with the support of Precious."
Professional team

Working together

Precious and Golden Lane work together to support people to maintain their tenancies in relation to their rights and responsibilities. This is a key element of supporting them to live independently in the community long-term.

With tenancies provided by Golden Lane Housing, alongside support from Precious, Supported Living is focused on developing independence, daily living skills, and confidence – enabling people to move on to more independent living over time.
