We offer supported living plus services for autistic people and people with learning disabilities based in Brent, North West London between Wembley and Neasden. Our Supported Living service provides individualised and proactive support for up to three autistic adults/ adults with learning disabilities.

Overview

With a qualified, experienced, and committed Support Team, the service is ideal for people who need support to develop the confidence and skills required for independent living, or as a step-down service for someone moving on from a secure setting.

We work closely with Golden Lane Housing to support people to organise their accommodation, funding, and tenancies. Support is provided by the Precious team, and tailored to meet the specific needs of each person, enabling them to develop the independence, skills, and confidence necessary to move on to more independent living over time.

As an award-winning provider of social care, Precious offers specialised support that is tailored around each individual’s needs. Our supported living teams work closely with Social Care professionals, Health and Community teams to ensure that support is co-produced with those we support, with a focus on ensuring independence, choice, empowerment and inclusion.

Tailored support, bespoke accommodation

The accommodation comprises three flats situated on the ground and first floors. Each flat has a bedroom, living area, ensuite shower/bathrooms, and a kitchen with dining space. People are supported to personalise the flats and make them their own.

Each flat has been creatively designed to meet a range of needs. Two flats have additional space and are ideal for someone who has previously been supported in a residential setting. The third flat has been specifically designed to support someone who is working towards independent living in the community over time.

Outside, there is a communal private garden and patio area. The outdoor space is used for gardening and getting together for BBQs during the summer months.

Supported living

Supported Living is focused on developing independence, daily living skills and confidence enabling people to move onto more independent living over time.

We work in partnership with Golden Lane Housing, a not-for-profit organisation that provides specialist landlord services for people with a learning disability. Precious and Golden Lane work together to support individuals to set up, manage and maintain their own tenancies, with daily support provided by Precious.

Our recruitment process is focussed on values, ensuring that we only employ people who believe in kindness, involvement, quality of life and progress. We provide ongoing training, support and mentoring to ensure that our team have the skills required to deliver high quality care.

Our Clinical Support Team

In addition to our highly trained support teams, we also have a specialist in-house Clinical Support Team. The Clinical Support Team is a team of specialists from different disciplines, who work closely together to deliver additional support and expertise to the people we support at Precious.

By having an in-house team, we bring together professionals and practitioners from across different sectors to deliver person-centred, holistic care which focuses on the needs of the individual. With no need to apply and wait for support from external teams, we can provide this specialist support quickly and efficiently.

PBS

At Precious, we are committed to improving the support we provide by embedding Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) throughout the organisation. At its very core, PBS is about treating people with respect, putting their needs at the centre and enabling them to achieve the quality and enjoyment of life that everyone aspires to.

PBS takes a person-centred approach to identify which areas of support will be most helpful to each individual. This includes working closely with the people we support to make sure that their choices and goals are heard, respected and actioned.

The Local Community

Based in the heart of Brent, the flats are part of a bustling residential community and are close to a vast range of amenities including shops, cafes and restaurants, leisure, sport and activity centres, colleges, libraries and medical centres. Neasden and Gladstone recreation grounds and parks and Fryent Country Park provide plenty of opportunities for fresh air, while the proximity to Central London is great for day trips.

Referrals

We provide a rapid response to referrals and we will normally arrange a professional assessment within a few days of your call.

Our highly experienced team will carry out a full and detailed pre-admission assessment, free of charge and without obligation, prior to a placement being offered. This focuses on understanding the unique needs of each person and forms the basis of the their support plans if they move into the service.
