Precious Manager Highly Commended at Great British Care Awards

A huge well done to Victoria Strange, Registered Manager in the London area, who received special mention when she was highly commended by the judging panel at the recent Great British Care Awards.

Having read her award entry and put Victoria through her paces at the panel interview, the judges commented “Victoria has gone above and beyond for her residents and support staff. Nothing is too much of a challenge for her. Listening to her stories about what she had done to support people was an inspiration.”

Victoria’s nomination included comments from parents as well as her staff team. An excerpt from the nomination form reads:

“Vicky is an outstanding leader who is passionate and committed to providing quality care that enriches the lives of the people she supports. She is approachable and caring, firm, but fun – and that is evident in the team spirit and commitment as well as the warm and welcoming atmosphere she cultivated during her time at Highbury Gardens.

“Vicky sees the team and the people she supports as a family. As such, she has an unwavering passion for ensuring that their needs are met, their goals championed and their achievements celebrated. She is a passionate advocate who is not afraid to fight for the rights of the people she cares for.

“An exceptional communicator, she leads her team with infectious enthusiasm, ensuring that they are aware of the team’s vision and of their role in achieving it. In doing so, she engenders a sense of collective responsibility which means that her team is as committed as she is. In addition to team communication and leadership, Vicky also communicates well with families, going out of her way to ensure that they are involved, including finding ways to overcome language or communication barriers with parents.

“Vicky is loved by her team and the people she supports, appreciated by their families, and respected by her peers and other professionals. Her commitment, passion, and dedication to her work are second to none.”
