Vermont House

Residential Care
Birmingham

Vermont House is a bespoke Residential Service designed to support up to six autistic adults, or those with learning disabilities and associated needs, to develop the skills and confidence necessary to lead a more independent life.

Overview

Vermont House is a characterful Victorian property in Sutton Coldfield, north Birmingham. The service has been designed to support six people, including those who may have experienced previous placement breakdowns. We put fun and friendship at the heart of what we do, with all activities designed to help the people we support to become more independent and enjoy life to its fullest.

Tailored support, bespoke accommodation

Vermont House offers six spacious en-suite bedrooms, complemented by a variety of communal spaces, which are designed to encourage social interaction, reduce isolation, and support the varied needs of the people we support. There is also a transition flat, which has its own kitchen, and dining space.

We have a large communal kitchen which is ideal for supporting independent living skills such as cooking, washing up and laundry. Each floor features a homely and modern lounge area, ideal for anything from watching TV to getting involved in a range of activities. The focus is on fun and enjoyment while promoting choice and independence. We are a varied group with a wide range of interests, from playing cricket or basketball to knocking out a tune on the karaoke machine!

The house also has a low arousal conservatory area, which is used for quiet activities or for those who benefit from having space away from the hustle and bustle of the busier rooms. Our enclosed garden is home to a trampoline and a range of garden games, as well as an activity room, with table tennis and a range of other activities.
