Acquired Brain Injury:
Innovative, proactive and person centred rehabilitation
Acquired Brain Injury
At Precious Homes we provide enablement, long term support and care for adults with acquired brain injury (ABI).
Specifically designed to provide bespoke follow on care and support, many of the individuals we support with an ABI have transitioned from hospital or treatment centres as a vital step in their rehabilitation.
Tofayal suffered a brain haemorrhage in 2013 which sadly resulted in a brain injury.
Working in partnership with Precious Homes In-House Multi-Disciplinary Team, the team at Chandos have worked with Tofayal to increase his self-management skills, re-learn daily living skills and increase his communication and understanding.
Our Key Aim
Our team’s key aim is to reduce risk and maximise independence.
Individuals who access our services have acquired their brain injuries through: Trauma; Strokes; anoxic/hypoxic injuries; and illnesses such as meningitis and toxicity.
We work closely with families, community neurological teams, doctors and social workers to establish a partnership approach to aiding recovery and supporting people with an ABI through the next stage of their pathway and onto increased independence.
