Success Story – Ben

Ben was transferred to our specialist supported housing service in Devon as an emergency admission.

He had been resident in a specialist autism service but his behaviour had escalated to such levels that his placement had been terminated with 24 hours notice.

Ben moved into one of our self contained flats with 1:1 support during the day

Ben has been with us now for over eighteen months and during this time we have not experienced a single incident of challenging behaviour.

He plays football for a local Sunday league team and has a voluntary job with the local country park.

We have been able to reduce the cost of Ben’s support package twice since his admission and anticipate a further reduction at his next review. This has been achieved by establishing with Ben, a clear pathway to independence which also reflects his dreams and aspirations
