New Precious Homes services officially open in Gloucestershire
09 Sep 2019
June 27th was a very special day in Gloucestershire for Precious Homes – with the sun shining at the opening event of Red Kite Court and Merlin Mews and the Mayor of Tewkesbury officially opening the brand new development.
Manager of the new services, Lisa Strachan, said: “Thank you to the Mayor, team members, individuals, families and our health and social care partners for helping us celebrate the opening of our brand new provision. We have met some fabulous people and look forward to welcoming our new team members and service users to these wonderful new services over the coming months.”
Red Kite Court is a residential service comprising of six self-contained flats, each with access to communal living space which includes an open plan lounge, courtyard, activity room and hot tub. The service will provide the beginning to an on-site care pathway leading to supported living and has been designed for individuals in transition or stepping down from secure settings.
Merlin Mews is one of Precious Homes supported living plus models – again with a mix of individual flats and communal living space. This service will provide a stepping stone from residential to supported living – supporting each person along an individual care pathway.
Both services will also benefit from ‘Gabbiano Café’, providing opportunities for the people living in both services to develop work skills and confidence in a safe and structured environment.
Commenting on Precious Homes very first services in the Gloucestershire county, Greg Lapham, Chief Executive, said: “Our entire team have worked tirelessly to make this wonderful scheme happen and today our visitors were able to view the culmination of all the hard work, focus and innovation that had gone into its creation. All our visitors were very complimentary and I look forward to welcoming the people we support into their new homes very soon.”
