New Hub – placing Individuals at the heart of their community
01 Jun 2016
Linked to our Supported Living Service, Chamberlain Road, the newly built ‘hub’ will act as a communal meeting place for individuals living at Chamberlain Road, as well as the main centre for our outreach and community provision across Kings Heath – providing support, advice and community provision for people we support locally.
“This has been set up in response to local demand for a facility that service users can meet, get support and receive information and advice in their local area,” explains Chief Operating Officer Greg Lapham.
“We often find that people who live in their own flats in the community can feel isolated, and although are increasing their independence in their own tenancy, really benefit from having a communal space where they can get that bit of extra support or meet friends.”
Greg adds: “At the hub, staff will be on hand to provide advice, guidance and support, as well as Individuals benefiting from peer support and a place for them to develop new friendships, natural support networks and get that extra motivation and support when they really need it.”
The team are tying in the launch of the new hub with the opening of Arthur House’s new garden, and National Care Home Open Day on 17th June and we would very much like you to join us. For more information, please contact us.
