Meet Marcus: Our new Director of People
11 Dec 2019
Marcus Foster joined the Precious Homes team as our new Director of People on the 14th October.
Prior to Precious, Marcus was HR director at Danshell, a private healthcare company which specialises in care for individuals across hospitals and care homes with a diagnosis of LD, Autism or behaviour that can be described as challenging, as well as holding senior HR positions in a variety of industries, from translation to travel.
Asked why he was keen to join the team here at Precious Homes, Marcus explains:
“My most rewarding time in my career has been while working as an HR professional in the Health and Social Care arena. I want to be part of an organisation that strives to improve the lives of individuals that need specialist support to live the best possible individual life they can. My goal is to help Precious Homes become an employer of choice in our sector and to lead a best in class HR team.”
Greg Lapham, CEO explains:
“Our team is our most important asset at Precious Homes. Without you, we couldn’t do what we do. We’re really pleased to have Marcus on board to ensure that we continue to recruit, train and retain the very best people to the best of our ability. Welcome to the team Marcus!”
Outside of work, Marcus has recently taken up Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and is a keen cyclist. Not one to shy away from a challenge, Marcus also regularly completes in WOLF runs and Tough Mudder to help raise funds to improving the lives of older people with Alzheimer’s – a cause close to his heart. When he’s not doing something sporty, one of Marcus’ great passions is travel. His favourite place so far is New Zealand, “for the landscapes, the people and the way of life.”
