Learning Disability Today London 2016
09 Dec 2016
Precious Homes were very excited to join in the action at Learning Disability Today London 2016 at the ILEC Conference Centre in London on Tuesday 29th November. We joined a range of other organisations from support services to products which promote choice, independence and empowerment for people with Learning Disabilities and complex needs.
Learning Disability Today London brings together 1,000 visitors, a host of exhibitors, briefings and a multi-stream CPD certified seminar programme – being the largest inclusive learning disability event of the year.
Precious Homes Managers, Directors, Business Development and Recruitment Teams came together bright and early to set up their exhibition, to welcome visitors, attend seminars, and provide information, advice and case studies of the fantastic support being delivered across services.
Chief Operating Officer, Greg Lapham says: “Precious Homes were delighted to meet people supported, family members, social workers, commissioners and other providers within the field of social care to share information, good practice and to discuss ways that we can all work together to explore current services, gaps in provision and partnership working into the future.”
The day embraced of a host of exciting and innovative projects and organisations that extend choice and control for people with learning disabilities, across all areas of their lives. Alongside exhibitors was a jam-packed seminar programme with this year’s focus on Policy and Practice, Health and Well-being, Learning Disability and Autism.
Greg adds: “We were most inspired by people with support talking about their own lives within the workshops as well as on their stalls – showing person-centred support and achievements at its best.”
“Thank you to everybody who came to talk to us and to everybody who helped to make it such an enjoyable day.” Greg adds.
