Introducing Red Kite Court & Merlin Mews
03 May 2019
This summer sees the opening of two new Precious Homes’ services in a brand new location of Gloucestershire. We spoke to Precious Homes Business Development Managers, Marek Lapham & Will Oborne, to find out more about the new provision comprising of a two-tiered step down model and the launch of Precious Homes’ second social enterprise – Gabbiano Café!
Will said, “Red Kite Court is a Residential service comprising of six self-contained flats, each with access to communal living space which includes an open plan lounge, courtyard, activity room and hot tub. The service will provide the beginning to an on-site care pathway leading to Supported Living.”
Red Kite Court has been designed for individuals in transition or stepping down from hospitals settings.
Marek adds, “The second service, Merlin Mews, is one of Precious Homes Supported Living Plus models – again with a mix of individual flats and communal living space, however this service will provide a stepping stone from Residential to Supported Living, supporting each person along an individual care pathway.
Taking inspiration from Precious Homes’ successful social enterprise café in Birmingham, the services will also benefit from Gabbiano Café, providing opportunities for the people living in both services to develop work skills and confidence in a safe and structured environment.
Chief Operating Officer, Becki Davis-Coxsell said: “It certainly is an active time for new developments at Precious Homes and we are delighted to be launching brand new provision in a brand new location. The two new Gloucestershire services have all elements of best practice design and include models of support that we know work well – equipping us with the best environments to support people on their pathway to independence.”
To celebrate and showcase the new provision, an open day has been planned on Thursday 27th June at Church Road, Maismore, Gloucestershire, GL2 8HB.
