Huge accomplishments at Oster House
13 Sep 2016
At the beginning of September individuals supported at Oster House joined team members to complete a nutrition training course delivered by A1 Social Care Training Ltd.
Manager, Tracy Keane, explains: “The course was specifically designed for both team members and individuals supported so that they could receive group training within the same session to increase their skills and knowledge.”
“The fact that individuals were training alongside team members gave them a real boost. Every person engaged within the sessions and feedback following the course was extremely positive. Each person received a certificate to mark their success on completing the course.” Tracy adds.
Oster House is also proud to share some individual successes from the people supported at the service:
– JO has just been accepted into Oaklands College in St Albans to complete an art course. Following his induction last week, he is now getting ready to embark on his new course with sessions starting mid-September. Tracy explains: “JO has a real passion for Art and the work he creates is fantastic. His enrolment in college to complete training will not only increase his skills, but also boost his confidence – travelling to college independently.”
– KB has recently received a certificate of commendation for her work as a key member of Hertfordshire NHS Partnerships’ Decider Group. Pictured here with her certificate congratulating her on her important work within the group.
– HW has been accepted into Exeter University and will be leaving Oster House within September. Tracy explains: “Going to University has always been HW’s ultimate dream. We are delighted he has succeeded and to watch him start his new journey is amazing. One of Precious Homes’ team members will be travelling to Exeter to support him for the first 3 months in an outreach capacity and everyone at Oster wishes him lots of luck on his new venture!”
Congratulations to everyone and we wish both JO and HW every success on their new courses!
