Chief Operating Officer, Becki Davis-Coxsell, tells us more: “Mulberry Court and Elderberry Mews are both located in Sutton Coldfield, East Birmingham, and will provide 18 new bespoke flats for individuals with Learning Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Condition.”

Becki-Davis-CoxsellThe site, previously a 23 bed apartment block, is currently being transformed into two separate services: a 12 Person Supported Living Service and 6 Person Supported Living Plus Service.

“We are all on target for these fantastic new services to launch in January with our open day arranged for the 23rd. We are also delighted to confirm the recent appointment of a new manager – who was recruited from within our local current team.” Becki adds.

The creation of these services is the first chapter in an exciting story – with some very significant growth planned for the next 18 months in the Midlands.

Becki explains: “Precious Homes’ reputation for providing outcome focused and flexible support packages to people with behaviours that may be described as challenging is accelerating at some pace. Commissioning teams from Dudley, Walsall, Sandwell Birmingham, Black Country partnerships, Solihull, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire have all taken a great interest in our current services.”

This new local focus stems from the development of Precious Homes’ award winning services: Swan Court, Falcon Mews and Robins View, with local commissioning teams wanting to create similar provision in their localities after visiting the Birmingham based provision.

“This interest has been cemented with our Outstanding CQC report at Ulysses House and our other Good reports locally – demonstrating our focus on the delivery of high quality support that matches the state of the art services being designed and created by Precious Homes. Our leaders and support teams continue to produce incredible results and outcomes and this is the foundation of their success.” Becki adds.

In addition to Mulberry Court and Elderberry Mews, there are plans to open a host of new services across the region in 2019.

Chief Executive Officer Greg Lapham explains more: “Plans are in place for the development of a site in Gloucestershire, similar to our residential service: Phoenix House. This will be for individuals moving out of hospital in response to the transforming care agenda with five Supported Living flats attached to the new service. We are also excited for our plans in Netherton, Dudley which will see the development of three services – mirroring our successful services in Birmingham, including the development of our second social enterprise Café.”

“It certainly is an active time for new developments and I am looking forward to showcasing our new services in 2019, starting with the open day of Elderberry Mews and Mulberry Court in January. Exciting times ahead – watch this space!” Greg adds.
