February’s Employees of the Month
26 Feb 2016
Congratulations to Karen Gill, Deputy Manager at 23 Fountain Road in Birmingham, and Amanda Cater Senior Support Worker at Autus Court in Barnet, North London who have jointly been awarded Employee of the Month for February.
Karen was nominated because she organised a fantastic charity event in Birmingham, a ‘Socks and Chocs’ day, giving out chocolates and socks to homeless people living on the streets in the city centre.
Director of Operations, Simon Griffiths, said he was delighted to give Karen the award for February.
He said: “The ‘Socks and Chocs’ event was very inspiring. Karen encouraged everybody living at 23 Fountain Road to get involved, putting the chocs in the socks and then distributing them throughout Birmingham City Centre. Other Birmingham projects were also encouraged to get involved and it was fantastic to see a real group effort.
“Also at a recent CQC inspection, the inspector was so impressed with Karen’s innovations around easy read paperwork for the service users, that they took it away themselves with a view to develop in their work. A well-deserved award.”
Director of Operations, Simon Griffiths, congratulated Amanda on her win and thanked her for his hard work.
He said: “While working with an individual, Amanda managed their behaviours that challenged by following protocols with confidence. She sustained injuries from the incident, as the individual got physically aggressive towards her, but through her actions she kept all individuals and other members of staff safe.
“This was a serious incident and throughout this challenging time Amanda has always acted professionally and remained with a positive attitude. Her work ethic is an example for us all to follow. Thank you Amanda and well done!”
