A busy month at Precious!
24 Mar 2020
At Precious Homes, our focus is on ensuring that the people we support are able to enjoy their local community. By doing so, we ensure that people have experiences which will enrich their lives and allow them to acquire key life skills. Here are just some of the photos of people up and down the country getting out and about – from theatre trips, to birthday parties, walks in the park to visits to local cafés.
Chris at Oxley Park supports local charity shops
Well done to Chris, who has recently decluttered his belongings and helped out a local charity. Chris is supported at Oxley Park in Milton Keynes. Just before Christmas, Chris set about decluttering his room and took several bags to the local charity shops near him in the run-up to Christmas. The staff at Oxley Park were really proud of him for acting like one of Santa’s elves and giving something back to the community. Well done Chris!
Burghley Road food and theatre night
Residents from our supported living service in Burghley Road, Haringey, recently enjoyed a wonderful night of food and theatre in London. To celebrate David’s birthday, Sarah, Rajesh Andrea and David, along with their support workers, headed into Soho for a meal at The Burgers and Lobster restaurant. After enjoying a delicious meal, they went off to the Dominion Theatre to watch The Prince of Egypt. Susan, a Support Worker at Burghley Road, commented, “Everyone had a fantastic time and they are all looking forward to their next outing!”
Clemmie’s valentines meal
Clemmie lives at Robin’s View Supported Living in Birmingham. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Clemmie and her boyfriend Sam went on a date to the local pub. Clemmie and Sam have been together for 4 years.
Oster House trip to St Albans Museum
When AM from Oster House discovered that her support worker had never been to St Albans museum, she made it her mission to give him a day out to remember. Amongst the art and historic artifacts, the museum has its own courtroom and holding cell, which they really enjoyed exploring together. Jody Cross-Clayton, Deputy Manager, commented, “They both returned with beaming smiles and memories made!”
Belated Happy Birthday to Brandon
Happy birthday and welcome to Brandon, a new night staff member at Oxley Park. Wendy Porter, registered manager, explains “I discovered it was Brandon’s birthday while he was on his induction with Precious Homes, so we surprised him with a birthday cake to make his first week with Precious one he will never forget!”
